Tee hee hee! Thank goodness I don't TWEET that much! Folks don't need to know what I'm doing every minute of the day! My work gave me a Blackberry so THEY could reach me in a heartbeat. THAT'S enough for me:-) I tweet at my leisure.
Twitter is what you choose to make it! If you follow people that twit about their next bowel movement, that’s your choice, you get what you pay for. If you want breaking news you follow the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, and other media outlets.
The plant manager where I work complained about Twitter regarding what users post, it’s not my job to educate this man that he needs to follow users that post valuable information, so I’ll allow him to think of Twitter as a useless tool.
We’re all not as lucky as Nubia with the FREE Blackberry and every other Friday off, most of us work for companies that attempt to make a profit, not depend on taxpayer dollars to support useless free devices and time off from work.
Don't try to BELITTLE me because I happen to have the livelihood that I have! HELLO! It was a career choice! How UNFAIR of you to even go there! By NO MEANS do I feel guilty for being paid with taxpayers dollars. I happen to be a PUBLIC SERVANT who takes the ULTIMATE pride in delivering the services that the taxpayers pay for...and DO IT WITH PRIDE! Feel free to contact any of the citizens I serve, and you'll only get kudos for the services I provide.
I was in private industry before and know that dedication and loyalty means the same thing in BOTH industries/agencies! This country couldn't survive without ALL OF US!
Nubia you are fortunate to be a government employee. Normal 9-5 hours weekends off every other Fridays not to mention all of the paid holidays comp days and more sick days than I have fingers. The difference between government employees and employees in the private sector is our employer is held accountable by the shareholders. Government workers are not held accountable because of the various unions and government management. The Federal State and local governments are bankrupt. The pensions they are collecting is pathetic. You say you are a public servant.. may I ask who exactly are you serving?

About this blog and The Pressmens Club
The blog was started to talk about issues impacting the pressroom both positively and negatively. The views expressed here are not of the LA Times, but of each individual's opinion. The Pressmen's Club is composed of men and women who have printed the paper for twenty years or more. Semi-annual dinners are held in March and October. See Ed Padgett for more information.

Twitter is what the user makes of it.
