Arkansas Democrat-Gazette launching iPad subscription program

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has a new iPad subscription program, the paper reported.
The move comes amid a decision to stop daily delivery of the Democrat-Gazette's print edition in a number of Arkansas markets.
Instead of printed papers, Publisher Walter E. Hussman Jr. says, the Democrat-Gazette will provide subscribers in the markets a free iPad, which can display the paper in digital form. The monthly subscription cost won’t change, the paper said.
Beginning May 13, Democrat-Gazette subscribers in the markets will still get a printed newspaper on Sundays, and every day they will get the digital replica delivered to their computer, tablet or smartphone. They will also have full access to the paper's website, arkansasonline.comaccording to the Texarkana Gazette.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette staff will have workshops to on how to use the iPads and will make trips to the homes of people who can’t make the workshops, the paper has said.
