Randy Price

Louis Randolph Price

December 20, 1954 - April 02, 2021

On April 2, 2021 Louis Randolph Price, beloved husband and father, died of heart failure due to complications from dementia at his home in Chatsworth, CA. He was 66 years old. He was born in Petersburg, VA and moved to Los Angeles, CA after graduating high school. He leaves behind his loving second wife Bertha; three children Michael, Kristina (Jeremy) and Ericka; three grandchildren Jacob Jonathan and Joshua; and his sister Connie.

For nearly 40 years he excelled as an industrial electrician for the Los Angeles Times. His work received recognition, and during his career with the company he furthered his education, worked on special projects and was on the Emergency Response Team.

He was exceptional at staying calm during a crisis and saved several lives. Never one to stand by in the face of suffering or disaster, he jumped into action without hesitation to help any person (or any animal) in distress. Ever since his youth, he possessed this natural instinct of how to help.

As a teenager, he learned to play the saxophone and sang in a band with friends. He also played high school football and baseball. He was a good marksman, was passionate about riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, played in bowling leagues and tournaments, and scored a perfect 300. He was a good amateur photographer and an oil painter of landscapes. He loved his country and especially liked to study the Civil War, WWII and Vietnam. He delighted in volunteering with a program to read stories to elementary school kids.

He was an enormously kind and generous man with a stellar work ethic. He was very in tune with nature, had a special connection with animals, a spooky sixth sense for predicting earthquakes, and he could be playfully mischievous with his creative sense of humor. He and Bertha enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and to visit their grandchildren in Indiana.

He joins his father Harvey, mother Virginia, daughter Jennifer and ancestors in the beyond.

Services will be held on June 21 at Mission Hills Catholic Cemetery, CA.
