The Brotherhood of Telegraphers began an unsuccessful three-week strike against the Western Union Telegraph Company. – 1883

Newsboys in Long Island City flipped a newspaper wagon and declared a strike against the papers. Often resorting to violence, the boys would attack anyone found selling the boycotted papers, including adults - 1899
