In just under 100 hours
from now, the polls will close.
The votes will be cast.
The pollworkers will pack up and start shipping the ballots
downtown to be counted.
A new mayor will have been selected by the voters of Los Angeles
and we will eagerly await the final results.
And this race will be a very close one.
You have been the most incredible group of dedicated volunteers -
thousands of Angelenos who believe that our best days are still ahead
of us and who donated so much time.
You know who I am - someone who has been focused for 12 years on
neighborhood turnaround, a legislator who has written
nationally-recognized initiatives to improve the quality of life for
LA residents, and a public servant who has made the tough choices
necessary to be an effective and independent leader.
This has always been a people-powered campaign and that people
power has never been more important than over the next 100 hours.
Finally, thank you for being alongside me on this journey. It has
been an honor, a privilege, and the best experience of my life.
With deep gratitude,
Eric
