My 10th LAT Subscription

I was informed that I was in third place among employees at the Los Angeles Times in gaining new subscribers at the newspaper, with nine subscriptions. This morning my daughter Lauren became a new subscriber to the Times, marking my tenth subscriber.

I would like to thank everyone that has taken advantage of the Friends and Family offer, and if you have not subscribed and would be interested in fifty percent off the regular monthly rate just follow this link to subscribe using my employee number 051627.

I am interested in how this program works and even more interested in if it works. Do you have the data? How long has the program been in effect? How many subscribers were added through the program? What is the retention rate of those new subscribers? What is the incentive to the employees? (other than the obvious).

Thanks,
Robert

Metaprinter,

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. The Friends and Family program started the last week of January, and was scheduled to end at the end of March, but has been continued till? The program is currently still running as far as I can see, but all the promos have been removed.

Employees of the Los Angeles Times are rewarded with $25.00 for every new subscriber to the newspaper. The new subscriber is billed, as employees are, fifty percent off the regular subscription cost, for life.

The Times is rather tight lipped when it comes to supplying subscriber figures, so I’m unable to give you any hard facts on how many new subscribers the employees brought in, or if they retain the newspaper for a specific amount of time.

If the numbers come my way I will share them with you.
