This is National Public Health Week
The men and women of the Los Angeles Fire Department join the American Public Health Association (APHA) in recognizing April 2-8, 2007 as National Public Health Week.
This year's national observance highlights the steps that vulnerable communities can take to prepare for public health threats, from natural disasters and disease outbreaks to acts of terrorism.
During this year’s campaign, APHA is asking families, schools and businesses to assess their level of preparedness and "Take the First Step" to becoming better prepared for a public health emergency.
