Today Tribune Newspaper Employees across the country are to be informed if they will be leaving the company in two weeks. At the Los Angeles Times 150 employees will be let go, and I’m certain I will know many of them.
Not a happy time at Tribune Newspapers today.
Buyouts are not offered to pressroom employees at the Los Angeles Times, as we are posed to be transformed into the Transcontinental of Los Angeles, by producing our competitor’s newspapers very soon.

Becoming the transcontinental of Los Angeles would be a good thing for job security I would think.At least in the pressroom.
That should keep OC around for awhile atleast.
think you got some bad info. Nothing happened today.
Appears this was bad information, which I hope means no one will be leaving by March 1st.
After reading union negotiations update number 9 maybe there are going to be layoffs and/or buyouts in the pressroom.
