Reclassify LA Breweries

 Sign the petition

We are requesting that you classify us in our own category, and don’t lump us in with bars.  We count for approximately 70 businesses across all of LA County compared to thousands of tiny bars that call LA home.

We are fortunate here, at Old Stump Brewing Co., to have a HUGE outdoor space that is perfectly designed for safe outdoor dining.  Like many of our fellow brewery owners, we have invested in PPE and put all safety protocols in place to ensure the safety of both our employees and our guests.  So many of our patrons have expressed that they would feel safer dining on our patio than in many of the existing converted spaces of restaurants just down the street.  Our brewery has long standing relationships with local food trucks, (also small businesses that are struggling mightily right now) and requiring a food purchase with beverage, as has been made standard in other counties in California, is easy for us.  People are going out; they are just doing it at restaurants or at breweries in neighboring counties just 3 miles away.

Our outdoor space is a huge asset to our community.  Over the past 5 years, we have helped dozens of local, and non-local, non-profits raise hundreds of thousands of dollars which has all been put back in our community.  The flexibility of our space, and our willingness to donate, has made Old Stump Brewing Co. a hub for non-profit activity.  While we recognize that non of these activities can happen in the foreseeable future, if our business cannot survive this pandemic, then the whole community suffers this loss in the long term.

Please re-classify breweries in our own category and allow us to open our patios as our neighboring counties so that we may continue to help our communities.

Thanks to your support this petition has a chance at winning! We only need 260 more signatures to reach the next goal - can you help?Take the next step!
