One of the special aspects of items printed in our print shop exhibit is all greeting cards are printed with the phrase “Printed at the Sacramento History Museum Print Shop.” This was the first of three press runs to complete 250 greeting cards using our Chandler & Price jobbing press that was manufactured in Cleveland, Ohio in 1902.
In this video, which was filmed in segments, Howard demonstrates inking the press, operating the press shown from different angles, and cleaning the press after a press run. Pay close attention to the newspaper Howard uses to clean the press.
