Opportunities did not come without someone suffering and sacrificing

-I want these young men and women who are alive today to know that these new privileges and opportunities did not come without someone suffering and sacrificing for them.-
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Got it people? I really don’t think you do for there is far too much complacency and taking for granted that the privileges and opportunities you enjoy will always be there! That there’s nobody out there daily trying to take them away! If you don’t believe that it is so continue down the path that you are on and as Chief Seattle said in “a few more moons a few more winters we will see!”

CHILI MOST STOP THE VIOLENCE

Rico Sweatt also known as “Chili Most” and his brother William Sweatt, known as “Z Most” have created a masterpiece of socially conscious music of love on C.D. and their vision is to change the mindset of society.
CHILI MOST has captured the imagination with this timely message of the song, “Stop The Violence”. It speaks to the issues of governmental wars, gang and drug wars, domestic violence and illegal guns. Just like the first single release “Fight For Your Rights” while it speaks about fighting, it also really means standing up for your rights in a non-violent way.  CHILI MOST gives credit in both songs to the message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who died for people’s rights but stood for non-violence.

Growing up in Terre Haute, Indiana during the Civil Rights Movement and with a social conscious Chili and Z Most learned that one man could make a difference. It’s the artist in them that mirrors the society that we live in. The name of their C.D. “N Love With Love” is about healing hearts, healing souls, healing relationships and ultimately healing humanity.

Chili and Z Most believe this is an assignment from God, and a mission of obedience. The strategic plan with their International Stop The Violence Campaign is to raise the awareness of consciousness to this pandemic of senseless killing that is going on with our young men and women in this country and inspire them to reach their full potential. Their goal is to cut the killing by fifty percent in this country and worldwide by ten percent. On 1-13-2013 in honor and spirit of Dr. King preceding the King Day Celebrations a call to action from ministers from around the country and around the world will preach from the lyrics of the theme song “Stop The Violence” relating stories from the Bible to transform the lives of millions. After over 250 radio interviews and more than one-hundred million listeners they have so far gained the support of the National People’s Movement, People’s Movement For Change, Mothers in Charge, N.A.A.C.P., National Action Network, Justice Seekers of Texas, Nashville Peacemakers, Concerned Citizens Against Violence etc. They believe the real enemy we face today is the lack of jobs, education, and poverty. Through music Chili and Z Most will bring love back because God is love.  N’ Love With Love is the soundtrack of today and it will change the frequency and violence in people’s heart and replace it with love. Their intent is to change the mindset of the young men and women who are in the streets killing one another, but more importantly they want to change the mindset of the adults then ultimately change the mindset of humanity. Martin Luther King's I Have a Dream Speech

I Have a Dream Speech Martin Luther King's Address at March on Washington August 28, 1963. Washington, D.C. When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty,
we are free at last!"

Los Angeles Press Club Event

Last night I attended What if Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had tweeted the Civil Rights Movement at the Los Angeles Press Club, I had a preconceived notion the event would be informative and interesting, which was exactly on the mark. As I entered the guest room I noted the different people sitting at the tables, one fellow grabbed my attention with his unique hat that adorned his head to my right. I thought I would grab a coffee before heading in his direction to say hello. As I stood by the olive and cheese counter I met someone I had not seen in over nine years, Dr. Anthony Asadullah Samad, my Professor of African American Studies at East Los Angeles College.

Finally making my way back to the fellow with the cool hat I pulled up a chair next to him for a quick chat and learned he’s an artist that uses the handle Chili Most. I found Chili to be a very interesting and fun man and wouldn’t mind having lunch with him sometime soon. Chili has a new song called Dedication to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that you will be hearing much more as Martin Luther King Day nears.
