Dax Lion "Reggae Jam Jam/Gwan Natty" Ft. Biggz General

While most upcoming artists tend to lack a strong identity and position on their music and their message, Dax Lion, a Roots Reggae artist, is cut from a different cloth. Emerging with the heart of a lion, he is unabashedly clear on his mission to convey world-reaching messages while embracing Rastafari in a solid, bass-driven Reggae groove.

Certain Americans want to turn back the hands of time

By Haywood Galbreath
Certain Americans want to turn back the hands of time for unjust purposes!

Today, in a 5-4 decision the extreme right wing of the Supreme Court gutted a signature achievement of the Civil Rights Movement, the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The Court's decision to strike Section 4 of the law, is just one piece of a broader coordinated attack on the voting rights of Black people, women, young people and other people of color.

So they convinced you that they saw you as an equal wanted and want you to have all the rights, freedoms and opportunities that they do without struggle upon this land! Read the statement below and if you are wise you will take it to heart and not with malice in your heart but with sheer determination for what is right form this day forward pay close attention to the words and not let the past become the present or future!

“Those who refuse to look back at the pass at the mistakes they committed and or atrocities committed against them and their people! Are not only condemned to commit the mistakes of the past all over again! But also to watch those who committed the atrocities against them and their people continue to commit the atrocities because the committers of the atrocities know that not only did they get away with it! They can continue to get away with it! And will continue to get away with committing even more and greater atrocities”!

In England, a compassionate parliament declares that children can't be required to work more than 12 hours a day. And they must have an hour’s instruction in the Christian Religion every Sunday and not be required to sleep more than two in a bed - 1802

(Kids at Work: Your heart will be broken by this exceptional book’s photographs of children at backbreaking, often 2013.06.17history-kidsworklife-threatening work, and the accompanying commentary by author Russell Freedman. Photographer Lewis Hine—who himself died in poverty in 1940—did as much, and perhaps more, than any social critic in the early part of the 20th century to expose the abuse of children, as young as three and four, by American capitalism.)

Ten miners accused of being militant "Molly Maguires" are hanged in Pennsylvania. A private corporation initiated the investigation of the 10 through a private detective agency. A private police force arrested them, and private attorneys for the coal companies prosecuted them. "The state provided only the courtroom and the gallows," a judge said many years later - 1877

The American Railway Union, headed by Eugene Debs, is founded in Chicago. In the Pullman strike a year later, the union was defeated by federal injunctions and troops, and Debs was imprisoned for violating the injunctions - 1893

Henry Ford recognizes the United Auto Workers, signs contract for workers at River Rouge plant - 1941

2013.06.17history-dignityStriking African-American auto workers are attacked by KKK, National Workers League, and armed white workers at Belle Isle amusement park in Detroit. Two days of riots follow, 34 people are killed, more than 1,300 arrested - 1943

(All Labor Has Dignity: Dr. Martin Luther  King was every bit as committed to economic justice as he was to ending racial segregation. He fought throughout his life to connect the labor and civil rights movements, envisioning them as twin pillars for social reform. As we struggle with massive unemployment, a staggering racial wealth gap, and the near collapse of a financial system that puts profits before people, this collection of King's speeches on labor rights and economic justice underscore his relevance for today. They help us imagine King anew: as a human rights leader whose commitment to unions and an end to poverty was a crucial part of his civil rights agenda.)

The Taft-Hartley Labor Management Relations Act, curbing strikes, is vetoed by President Harry S. Truman. The veto was overridden three days later by a Republican-controlled Congress - 1947

Evelyn Dubrow, described by the New York Times as organized labor's most prominent lobbyist at the time of its greatest power, dies at age 95. The Int’l Ladies' Garment Workers Union lobbyist once told the Times that "she trudged so many miles around Capitol Hill that she wore out 24 pairs of her size 4 shoes each year." Tribune's CEO Peter Liquori Speaks

From: Peter Liguori
Sent: Wednesday, June 19, 2013 6:22 AM
Subject: Tribune's New CFO, New Appointment for Chandler Bigelow

Today we are announcing the hiring of Steven Berns as Tribune’s EVP/Chief Financial Officer and the appointment of Chandler Bigelow to the newly created position of EVP/Chief Business Strategies & Operations Officer.

These positions and the people occupying them are significant, so I want to spend a minute talking about them with you.

Steven comes to Tribune from Revlon, Inc., the worldwide cosmetics and beauty products company, where he has been CFO since May 2009. As you can see from the attached press release, throughout his career, Steven has held a variety of executive finance positions of increasing scope and responsibility. In addition to his financial acumen, Steven also has an open and innovative management style—he’ll be a great partner on our senior leadership team.

As to Chandler’s new role, the last several months at Tribune have convinced me he is the perfect choice to help craft the strategy behind the ongoing transformation of our broadcasting and publishing businesses. He has great strategic instincts, and he believes deeply in the incredible talent of our people, the strength of our assets, and the power of our distribution platform. He understands Tribune’s rich history and is passionate about its future success.

I couldn’t be happier or more excited about having Steven and Chandler helping to chart the company’s path forward. I look forward to working with them—I know you will, too.

Peter

OJ Simpson 19 years ago!

Yesterday June 17 was a 19th anniversary of the infamous white Bronco Chase on Southland freeways with O.J. Simpson it was one of the biggest spot news media events of the century. Most people can remember where they were that evening and the NBA finals actually stopped the finals to show the chase on the video board in the arena.

As a news photographer I was involved with trying to capture images of O.J. Simpson in all aspects of what had taken place and was going to take place. Mr. Simpson had been accused of killing his wife and her friend and everything that had to do with that matter from June 17, 1994 until October 3, 1995 when the not guilty verdict was read make it the biggest news/media event of the 20th century.

2014 will be of 20th year America and the world is still fascinated there is also still a great racial divide reference the trial and the verdict my team and I are now working on a documentary to tell the story from the perspective of the one journalists who never missed a day of the hearings and trial who’s story they never wanted the American people and the world to know!

I will say this eventually the truth that was crushed to the ground rises! The American people and the world will know what took place in that courtroom and sometimes outside and it will be left up to you! The people to decide for yourself if you were lied to and “WHO” lied to you!
