Electronic Design Group (EDG) has a contract to upgrade
one press of DC drives and supervisors and 18 RTPs on three presses at the
Atlanta Journal-Constitution print facility.
EDG has
previously upgraded two of AJC’s presses with new DC drives and a supervisor.
EDG will apply the same solution on the third press. The RTP upgrade modernizes
the existing RTPs and also will tackle the removal of the mechanical PIV infeed
and replace it with a readily available AC drive and motor.
Canada-based
EDG’s modernization of TKS Static Belt RTPs is a comprehensive solution that
includes the splice control and the tension control system, EDG says.
