Another Tough Day

Today was just another tough day at the Times, we walked on to a press that hadn't been run since Saturday. There was no paper in the press, a couple of dozen safe buttons pushed in around the press, and the roller crew was putting the finishing touch on their job. Things went down hill from there. We had trouble running the press up for black board so we ended up not going to lunch as we just about had a plate starter by the time we were through stripping the old plates off. Fortunately, once we worked all the bugs out of the press, we ran great. Tomorrow will be a better day.

Jesse,

All of you did a great job today, even with the problems you encountered. Please feel free to ask for help when needed, one of us old timers will be there as soon as possible.

Thanks for the offer Ed, it's much appreciated. We were able to overcome our difficulties using a fair amount of elbow grease and basic pressman skills. I believe the the problems we encountered today are to be expected when trying to run a press which has been down for several days.
