Union President Ronnie Pineda
Our negotiating committee consists of President Ronnie Pineda, Vice-President Keith Denson, Executive Board Member Mike Brierley, and Union Representative Mike Huggins. Our committee members did a great job against a foe (Tribune Co.) that cares nothing about the workingmen and women working in the pressroom at the Los Angeles Times.
Negotiations came to a conclusion three days ago with the signing of a memorandum of agreement containing a tentative agreement, which Tribune Company attorney Amy Foran said, “This is all they would offer”, to Mike Huggins.
Once the documents are prepared they will be made available to all members for review prior to the ratification vote.
Join us this Monday, November 7th at 1:00 p.m. at the Elephant Bar for an update from your executive board.

I'm guessing this will be a very short contract, shorter than that last one. LAT gets what they want, union gets what they want and the press workers get the shaft.
That is correct. The Union wants as many Pressman left employed with good wages as possible, so they can pay dues. It's called a Symbiotic relationship. No Union, then we would see a real screwing.
