Subject: Message from Mike Bourgon/New Benefits Update
· Beginning Monday, October 17th, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) will launch its customer care center dedicated to Tribune employees. The center will be staffed with personnel who can help you understand how the BCBS Traditional PPO plan and the BlueEdgeSM HSA plan will work, the relative advantages of each, and answer any questions you may have related to your medical benefits. The center will be open for your calls between 7 am CT and 7 pm CT. The direct number is: 866/874-2776. You can also reach the BCBS customer service center through the Tribune benefits center at 800/872-2222 and following the recorded prompts.
· Also beginning next week, we will start scheduling online BCBS webinars for Tribune employees. These sessions are designed to walk you through each of the medical plans being offered and answer your questions. These sessions will be recorded and available for you to playback at a time that’s convenient.
· As a reminder, you may search the BCBS provider directory now to see if your medical provider is in the network. Simply click here: http://www.bcbsil.com/providers/index.htm?WT.svl=h2. (Where required to select the Health Plan, click “Group” and then choose “PPO” from the “Select a Health Plan” drop-down list.)
Finally, a complete benefits guide will be mailed to your home and available online via Triblink in late October.
