Idaho Statesman to drop Saturday print

Starting Feb. 1, the Idaho Statesman (Boise) will no longer produce a printed newspaper on Saturday and will launch a weekend edition that includes expanded newspapers on Fridays and Sundays. The newspaper announced the change with a note to readers from Publisher Rusty Dodge.
The paper will continue to publish breaking local news to its website and social media platforms on Saturdays.
In September, the paper announced that its building on Curtis Road in Boise is for sale.
McClatchy owns the paper. McClatchy has announced the drop of Saturday print at a number of its papers recently, including the Fresno Bee, the Modesto Bee (California), the Myrtle Beach Sun News (South Carolina) and the Durham Herald Sun (North Carolina).
