Starbucks to stop selling newspapers in stores

Starbucks will cease selling newspapers in its stores in September, The New York Times and others reported.
Print editions of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and local newspapers were long sold at the chain’s 8,600 U.S. locations.
Starbucks provided no explanation for the move, the Times said. The chain is also taking out shelves stocked with whole-bean coffee and snacks, the paper said.
“We are always looking at what we offer our customers in our stores and making adjustments to our portfolio based on changing customer behavior,” said Sanja Gould, a company spokeswoman, in a statement.
